🔍 Your AI Visibility Score Might Be Lying to You

A brand can rank well on Google, show strong organic visibility by every traditional metric, and still be functionally invisible to ChatGPT's real-time citations. The reason has nothing to do with content quality.

ChatGPT's live search runs on Bing's index, not Google's, and multiple independent 2026 studies put the overlap between ChatGPT's citations and Bing's top results at roughly 87%. A page that never got indexed on Bing has almost no path into a ChatGPT citation, regardless of where it sits on Google.

Most teams have never checked their Bing presence, because nothing in a normal SEO workflow asks them to. Google dashboards, Google Search Console, Google rank tracking, all of it measures a search engine that ChatGPT isn't actually querying when it needs current information.

Check whether you're even indexed on Bing before optimizing anything else

Before adjusting a single piece of content for AI visibility, confirm the basics: is the site verified in Bing Webmaster Tools, is the sitemap submitted, and does robots.txt allow Bing's crawler along with OpenAI's own search bot.

This sounds too basic to be the actual problem for most teams, and that's exactly why it usually is. A site that's been optimizing for Google for a decade and never once checked its Bing indexing status can be sitting on a gap large enough to explain a real chunk of its AI invisibility, with no content-quality fix able to touch it.

Track citation rate separately for Bing-indexed and non-indexed pages

Once indexing is confirmed, the next question is whether it's actually converting into citations, since indexing and citation are two different stages that get conflated constantly.

Compare your ChatGPT citation rate on pages you know are well-indexed in Bing against pages that either aren't indexed there or were only recently added.

A meaningful gap between the two groups confirms indexing status is doing real work, which tells you where to prioritize the next round of technical fixes.

Stop treating Google visibility as a proxy for AI visibility

A strong Google ranking has real predictive value for Google's own AI Overviews, since those pull from Google's index. It has far less predictive value for ChatGPT, which is querying an entirely different index built by a different company.

Tracking indexing and citation status across both Google's and Bing's infrastructure in one view, rather than assuming one search engine's data speaks for the other, is what Semrush One is built to surface. You can see how it works here.

A visibility score built entirely on Google data was never measuring the whole picture. Now it's missing the half that actually determines whether ChatGPT can find you at all.

Together with Insense

Your November Creator Roster Is Already Being Booked

Insense gives brands scaling beyond $2M a faster way to pressure-test their creator bench before peak season.

  • Put products in creators’ hands early, so BFCM briefs come with product knowledge and content you already trust.
  • Turn a $1,000 budget into up to 20 UGC ads from five creators, creating more hooks to test from every shoot.
  • Connect Ads Manager to Insense’s performance dashboard to see which Partnership Ads and creators drive results, then rehire the strongest performers.

⚡ More keywords don't mean more Amazon growth

This framework argues that Amazon keyword strategy should prioritize the terms actually generating orders and ranking momentum. A large keyword list can look comprehensive while most of the budget gets spent on searches that contribute little to sales.

Why it works: Evaluating keywords by search volume, conversion rate, and affordable CPC helps concentrate spend where it can create meaningful order velocity. Proven exact-match terms can then provide the data for broader expansion.

Where it needs balance: Low-volume or initially unprofitable keywords aren't automatically worthless. Some capture valuable long-tail demand or need time to generate enough data. Decisions should account for margins, ranking goals, and sufficient testing before cutting spend.

🎥 Reel of the Day

What Works:

High-Stakes Hook - “POV: you put your reputation on the line by promising you could get a stranger’s baby to sleep” immediately creates stakes. Viewers now need to stay to discover whether Swaddelini actually delivers.

Proof Becomes Content - Rather than explaining why the swaddle works, the reel demonstrates it on a real unsettled baby in front of the parents. Watching the baby go from awake to asleep provides much stronger product proof than a list of benefits.

Outcome Is The CTA - “And he’s asleep!” is effectively the sales message. There is no need for aggressive promotional copy because the final visual demonstrates the outcome parents care about most.

Instead of saying your product works, publicly give it a difficult job and make viewers watch to see whether it succeeds. Challenge → live demonstration → visible result turns a product demo into entertainment.
